Ambassador Ódor visited Kaposvar in May of 2017, and on that occasion presented a plaque acknowledging the first Hungarians who settled in the area. The Ambassador was very taken by Kaposvar church, and the dedication of the Kaposvar Historic Society to continue to honour their Hungarian ancestors. This return visit is to present a more permanent plaque, and also to make a donation to the Kaposvar Historic Society from the Hungarian government, which will go towards further restoration projects at the Kaposvar site.

The announcement also states, “Please note that this will be an outdoor event, so it will be brief. The Ambassador is traveling from Saskatoon on the morning of March 8, but has every intention of arriving for 10 a.m.”
