News from CPS – Sept 26


  • Congratulations to Mrs. Kornaga and her husband who welcomed a baby boy, Heath James, on Saturday!
  • On Tuesday, September 27, our school will be hosting a mini-conference focusing on several aspects of respect throughout the morning.  There will be several presenters from the area that will be leading each group.  Sessions will start at 8:55 am.
  • The Terry Fox Run will be this Thursday at 10:45 The public is welcome to join us for the walk.  All students have been given pledge forms for their walk so please do your best to raise to help raise money for cancer research!
  • Ice cream will be sold after the Terry Fox Run for $1.00/scoop.  Our school goal is to raise $4750.00.
  • Welcome back from the JR SRC, they will host a Shrek movie and PJ day on Wednesday Sept 28. At the noon recess bell, come to Mrs. Stanko’s classroom to watch.
  • The October lunches are available to order at Orders for the October lunches will close at midnight on Monday, October 3. In order for our hot lunch program to continue we need volunteers!!  We are needing help with preparing the food the day of the lunch we are providing. If you can help please contact Tricia Rathgeber at
  • There is a schedule posted on the computer room door for distance learning students.  If you have a spare during those times and you are in the building, you should attend during those times to complete your distance learning courses.  Over the next week, Mrs. Kaminski may be unavailable during those times.  Please choose another classroom if that happens.
  • A reminder to all grade 12 students that if you will need to register online for the U of S open house on September 30 and the U of R open house on October 22 if you are interested in attending. Please see Mrs.Kaminski if you have any questions about this.
  • PeeWee Boys practice will be on the following Monday, Sept 26.
  • Jr. Girl’s volleyball practice next week will be on Tuesday, Sept. 27 from 3:30 – 5:00 and will travel to Stockholm on Wednesday, Sept 28.
  • Good job to the senior girls volleyball team who had lots of improvements in their tournament in Whitewood this weekend. The ref commented on what a great team they were and that they had amazing sportsmanship. Great job!
  • STAFF:- If you haven’t submitted your newsletter item, please do so by tomorrow.
  • Canskate looking for program assistants/volunteers for the 2016-17 skating season. Please contact Lynnae if interested 896-7244.
  • Hockey News:   Any parents who are interested in putting their 3 and 4 yr. olds in Snowflake hockey, contact Carter Prier 306-399-7333.
