Recreation corner from Tracy Howard

Summer is finally here and there have been so many exciting recreation things happening in Esterhazy.

In March we had the new equipment arrive for the refurbishing of the Skateboard Park. We had the grand re-opening on May 13th and were happy to see that so many of our youth have extremely happy with the changes. The town received a Community Initiatives Fund grant for this project. We would like to thank Chris Miller from Noble Construction for his generous assistance in offloading the equipment.

On June 2nd the Mosaic Trail in the Esterhazy Regional Park had its Grand Opening. The walking trail committee had a fundraising campaign for this trail and it is wonderful to see the results of all their hard work. I personally walked the trail and found it to be on the same level as many of the hiking trails I have hiked on Lake Superior and other places. The trail is easy to follow, lots of bends and hills and it is a great walk! Be sure and check it out!

New to the Town’s recreation programming is the Kid’s Summer Fun Series. This is a series of summer camps for kids to try new things. It is geared towards kids between the ages of 6 and 15. The town also received a Community Initiatives Fund grant for this series.

The pool is open and lessons will be underway beginning June 20th. We are so pleased with the new online registration system. It has streamlined our registration process. Thanks again to everyone for their patience in rolling out this new system!

Have a fantastic summer and let’s get active Esterhazy!
