News from CPS – May 25


  • Kindergarten Parents:  A reminder that there is no school for kindergarten on Thursday, May 26.  K-day has been switched to Friday, May 27.
  • On Friday all students from Pre-K to 6 will attend The Learn Ag Field Day in the morning and the 7-12 students will attend in the afternoon. Please remember to bring clothes appropriate for the weather, shoes, and long pants. Thanks to the RM’s of Churchbridge and Langenburg as well as the Credit Union every student and teacher will be given a hamburger or hotdog, a juice box, and water at no cost that day. If you have any questions please talk to Mrs. Kornaga.
  • Student Parking – As you are aware, our student parking lot is in bad shape.  GSSD Facilities is currently looking at repair options and request students park on the street (not on the grass) until further notice.  Thank you for your cooperation.
  • Go Guys- Starts today!  The session will run from 3:30-4:30 in the gym.  Please bring all permission slips to the office after announcements.  If you are interested in volunteering, please speak to Mrs. Leidl or sign up on the poster at the office.
  • All track athletes competing in Yorkton today need to meet by the couches by 12:40 today. All track athletes competing in Yorkton on Thursday need to meet at the school by 8:15 am.
  • Chess Tournament: The following students still have to finish their chess tournament matches: Zoe, Robert, Brody and Ryland. If those students could please meet in Mr. G’s room at noon to complete them. Go chess!
  • Students for the Yorkton film festival will be leaving tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.
  • Yearbook will meet tomorrow after school.If anyone has a bike at the Millwright shop that they would like to claim please do so asap as they will be donated or recycled by the end of the month
  • 2016-2017 Kindergarten – CPS Kindergarten Orientation will be held on Wednesday, June 8 at 2:30 at the school.  If possible, we appreciate having completed registrations at the school in advance of the orientation.  Please call 306-896-2712 or email to request a registration form.
  • The SRC is hosting a school dance May 27.  Advanced tickets can be bought from Hannah or Cassidy starting Thursday, May 12.
  • The SRC girls in charge of the dance check in with Miss. Marshall after announcements
  • Would all the CAC staff please meet in the main hallway after announcements.
  • Noon Gym Schedule: Gr. 7 – 9
  • Hot lunch will be served today for anyone who pre-ordered.  On the meu is pulled pork, creamy colseslaw, pork ‘n beans and fruit salad.
  • Staff:  Just a reminder that it is time to update your marks on maplewood.
  • If you have a small project you would like built or welded, the Millwright class may be able to help out for a small fee. Please contact the school 896-2712 for more information.
  • Nicole Griffin is walking in the Red Shoe walk on June 4, 2016 in Yorkton as a part of Adam’s Team. The red shoe walk is a charity event to raise money for Ronald McDonald House in Saskatoon. Nicole’s brother Adam is diagnosed with a rare disease called Idiopathic Pulmonary Hemosiderosis, as well as Cerebral Palsy. Nicole’s Family spends a lot of time at Ronald McDonald House while Adam is in the hospital. Nicole is collecting Donations to Ronald McDonald House as pledges for her walk.
