News from CPS – May 19


  • One week only!  School clothing may be ordered online at  Not sure of what size to order?  Sizers will be at the office for you to try on until Friday, May 20.  Check out the posters to see available styles and colours!
  • The Kidsport will be cooking hot dogs today for anyone who pre-ordered
  • Grade 10 & 11 Students. Please return your pre-registration forms asap.  The deadline was Monday, May 16 and you may run the risk of classes filling up.
  •  Student Parking. As you are aware, our student parking lot is in bad shape.  GSSD Facilities is currently looking at repair options and request students park on the street (not on the grass) until further notice.  Thank you for your cooperation.
  • Go Guys!. We are now looking for volunteers to help with our Go Guys after school program.  Dates: May 25, May 30, June 1, June 7, June 9, June 14, June 16.  Please sign up on the poster by the office.
    Student permission forms have been distributed and should be returned to the office as soon as possible.
  • Assembly Friday, May 20 @ 11:10
  • Go Go Girls! Helpers– please bring your t-shirts to school so we can have a yearbook picture taken after assembly.
  • Sr. Basketball players and coaches– please be prepared to have a yearbook picture taken after assembly
  • Kindergarten. VPS Kindergarten Orientation will be held on Wednesday, June 8 at 2:30 at the school.  If possible, we appreciate having completed registrations at the school in advance of the orientation.  Please call 306-896-2712 or email to request a registration form.
  • Kindergarten Parents:  In order to include our Kindergarten students in our Agriculture Day in the Field, kindergarten students will attend school Friday, May 27 instead of Thursday, May 26
  • Yearbook will only meet on Thursday after school this week.
  • The SRC is hosting a school dance May 27.  Advanced tickets can be bought from Hannah or Cassidy starting Thursday, May 12.
  • The Grade K-6 Bike Rodeo will take place May 20 at 9:00.  Students will need bikes and helmets that day.  Any parents wishing to help out can contact Pam Werle
  • ** Please NOTE DATE CHANGE. Attention parents of students born in 2003 – 2008 (mostly grades 2 – 7). The Solestice Meet (Formerly Hershey) is planned for May 28 in Yorkton. Registration is on-line this year.  Go to for more information and to register follow instructions for Yorkton Region. This track meet is not school affiliated so parents would be responsible for registering their child(ren) and transporting them to the event. If you have any questions please feel free to call Mrs. Wirl at the school. Thanks.
  • Staff:  Just a reminder that it is time to update your marks on maplewood.
  • Registration for the CPS Dirty 20/30 is now open. This year you will have an opportunity to run either 3km or 5km. The first 50 racers registered will receive an authentic Dirty 20/30 t-shirt! Check out our website for more details and registration info!
