News from CPS – May 9

  • Our drama production “Did Someone Say Murder” will take place Tuesday and Thursday evening beginning at 7 p.m.  Admission: Adults $10, students grade 7-12 $5. To Drama participants:  Dress Rehearsal today after school.  The aim is to have costumes, make up done and be on the stage by 4:30, so please be prompt.  The later we start, the later we stay.
  • Track practice will be Monday, Tuesday, and Friday after school next week.
  • Great job to Bailey Munson and Monica Reetz who competed at Senior Badminton Regionals this weekend in Kipling. Although they did not end up advancing to provincials they represented our school very well amidst a group of high calibre badminton teams.
  • This week is “Super Chess Week” to prepare for our Churchbridge Chess Tournament happening next week! This week, we will be having chess on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at noon. If you are interested in next week’s Chess Tournament, the sign-up sheet is on Mr. G’s door. You have to sign up by Friday to be included in the tournament. Go chess!
  • Yearbook meetings this week will be Wednesday and Friday.  Friday will include an evening session as well.
  • Band Boosters are doing the Ottenbreit/Harvest meat sales.  Orders are to be in by May 11 with delivery on May 27.  The order form is attached.
  • Kindergarten Parents:  In order to include our Kindergarten students in our Agriculture Day in the Field, kindergarten students will attend school Friday, May 27 instead of Thursday, May 26
  • Congratulations to the the top readers from the following classes!  Please come to the office after announcements to choose your free book!  Andrew D, William J, Morgan P, Hanna J, Makenna P, Anna T, Zoe B
  • ** Please NOTE DATE CHANGE.  Attention parents of students born in 2003 – 2008 (mostly grades 2 – 7). The Solestice Meet (Formerly Hershey) is planned for May 28 in Yorkton. Registration is on-line this year.  Go to http://www.solesticeclassic.com for more information and to register follow instructions for Yorkton Region. This track meet is not school affiliated so parents would be responsible for registering their child(ren) and transporting them to the event. If you have any questions please feel free to call Mrs. Wirl at the school. Thanks.
  • Staff:  Support staff timesheets are due this Friday.
