Last week, we published an announcement from St. Anthony’s hospital, informing the public that the air conditioning had stopped working. Today, we are delighted to tell readers that the new unit was put into place beside the building this morning.

All being well, Sunrise electricians will be on site early next week to complete the installation, and it’s hoped the unit will be fully operational by Thursday or Friday next week.

The old air conditioning unit is already on a truck, with the new one in place beside the building.

The old Air Conditioning didn’t do too badly however, having served the hospital for approximately 33 years, often running 24/7 during the summer, and it was certainly missed during a few hot days last week.

According to hospital staff, it wasn’t so much the temperatures that caused some discomfort, it was the high humidity. Thankfully, extra fans were set up for the patients, and with a few additional breaks in place for the staff, everyone made it through with resilience and determination.
