The Town Council has completed the 2015 budget process and is happy to say unlike many surrounding communities, the Town’s mill rate will remain the same as 2014.
The goal is to provide citizens with equal or better programs and services and maintain our infrastructure and programming services as much as possible. The Town’s 2015 budget contains major ongoing projects such as:
• ½ a million dollars for paving projects.
• Sidewalk repairs
• Sewer inspections and repairs
• Dust control and
• Major projects such as sanitary sewer upgrades, forced main upgrades, water treatment storage and landfill and solid waste changes.
“Town Council was able to hold the line on taxes for 2015”, said Mayor Pauline Chewka. “With the increase in some grant funding and elimination of the prompt payment discount – I am happy to report that the tax rate will remain the same as 2014. Council has worked diligently to be able to provide services in a continuing time of expansion. Esterhazy is growing and a look around Town shows Esterhazy is experiencing effects of the expansion of Mosaic”.
“The Town Council has adopted the new tag line – Come grow with us! – Esterhazy continues to prosper and has new families coming to live and work here, new subdivisions and expansions such as the daycare are just a few of the exciting changes we are now seeing.” the Mayor says.
