Years ago, prospective pilots in this area were able to take training at the Esterhazy airport. That option has not been available for some time now, but discussions are currently in progress to explore the possibility of resuming flight training from Esterhazy once again.
A meeting is being held tomorrow night (Tuesday, April 21) in the offices of Noble Construction, at which the guest speaker is Don Ingham, the owner of Yorkton-based “Leading Edge Aviation.” If there is sufficient interest in the Esterhazy area, the company will consider setting up a satellite flight training school and basing one of their training aircraft at Esterhazy airport.
Leading Edge Aviation has been in business since 1994, and their aviation roots go back more than 60 years. They offer training for the Recreational Pilot Permit, Private License, Night Rating, Instrument Rating and Instructor Rating.
The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, at the Noble Construction office, 215 Sumner Street, Esterhazy.
